This business is a major automotive tier 1 supplying a number of OE's across the UK and Europe.
Due to an internal restructure, we are seeking an experienced Buyer to join this team.
You will ideally have worked in an automotive, manufacturing and engineering environment that is fast paced and demanding. You will be used to a pressurised environment where the correct decisions need to be made quickly
You will be responsible for a certain commodity that will include press work or plastic injection moulding. You will be expected to work with a core number of suppliers in both the UK and low cost countries to obtain the best quality, price and deliver terms
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be working with an inhouse MRP system and liaising with a number of internal customers including production, engineering and finance.
This position demands the successful candidate to be an excellent communicator, one who has the ability to work with and negotiate internally and externally with both suppliers and end users.
There will be an element of global travel as you will be working with the European Head Quarters and integrating into that team as well as the UK.
The ideal candidate will have been working in a procurement function for the majority of their career.
